Five weighted criteria, totalling one hundred. What the panel is listening for.
Every performance is marked against five criteria: Intonation and Tuning (25), Interpretation and Musicality (25), Tone and Blend (20), Diction and Text (15) and Presentation and Discipline (15). The weights total one hundred, and the platform will not accept a set of criteria that does not.
Each adjudicator scores independently on a tablet. Nothing is visible to anyone else until it is submitted, and the final placing is the average of the panel's weighted totals.
Written comment matters as much as the mark. A competition that only ranks choirs teaches nothing; a competition that explains its ranking is a national music lesson.
